Microgreen ‘Kale Black’ Seeds
Kale Black microgreens are a mild and nutritious option for home or commercial growers. They have a gentle, savoury flavour—without the bitterness of mature kale or the heat of radish or mustard. Use them fresh in salads, wraps, sandwiches, or as a garnish.
Unlike full-grown kale, these microgreens are soft and easy to eat. They’re packed with nutrients like vitamins A, C, and K, plus minerals and antioxidants—great for adding colour and nutrition to meals.
This variety is fast-growing and easy to manage. You can grow them in soil, coir, hemp mats, or a hydroponic system. In the right conditions, a 10 × 20″ tray can yield around 310 g of fresh greens in under two weeks.
How to Grow Kale Microgreens
- Pre-soak: Not needed
- Sow rate: 28 g per 10 × 20″ tray
- Grow medium: Soil, coir, hydroponic mat, or hemp
- Setup: Moisten medium and flatten to 3–4 cm. Spread seeds evenly and mist lightly.
- Weighting: Yes—cover tray with a lid or second tray for blackout period
- Germination: 4–5 days in a dark, ventilated spot. Mist 1–2 times daily.
- Harvest: Ready in 8–14 days when stems reach 5–8 cm
