MICROGREEN ‘Red Shiso’ Seeds

Red Shiso microgreens are vibrant, aromatic, and packed with flavour. Their deep red-purple stems and fresh herbaceous taste make them a standout garnish for salads, sushi, noodles, cocktails, and gourmet plating. Ready in around 12–18 days, they add colour and character to any dish.

Unique Flavour & Beautiful Colour

Red Shiso microgreens have a refreshing flavour profile—minty, slightly spicy, with hints of basil and cinnamon. The vivid purple-red stems and green-tipped leaves make them ideal for chefs, home cooks, and anyone wanting a decorative finishing touch.

High-Value Crop for Small Spaces

Shiso microgreens offer strong yields even in compact setups. A 10 × 20″ tray generally produces around 180–220 grams of fresh greens using ~20–25 grams of seed. Their striking colour and premium flavour make them especially popular for market growers and microgreen kits.

Easy to Grow with a Little Patience

Red Shiso is simple to grow but germinates more slowly than faster microgreens like radish or broccoli. You do not need to soak the seeds before sowing. Prepare your grow medium at 3–4 cm depth, water gently, and sprinkle seeds evenly across the surface.
Cover the tray for 5–7 days to assist germination—Shiso prefers warmth and darkness during this stage. Once sprouted, move the tray under bright light and mist lightly 1–2 times daily. Expect harvest-ready greens in 12–18 days depending on temperature.
