Rosella is a fast-growing warm-season plant prized for its vibrant red calyxes, which are traditionally used to make rosella jam, cordial, herbal tea, syrups, sauces and desserts. Attractive cream-yellow hibiscus flowers, colourful stems and lush foliage also make rosella a striking ornamental addition to edible gardens.
Rosella thrives in tropical and subtropical Australia and can also be grown as a productive annual in warm temperate districts with a long frost-free growing season.
