Red Lentils

Red lentils are known for their earthy, slightly sweet flavour and are a popular legume in Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisine. When sprouted, red lentils become crunchy and tender with a mild, nutty taste that blends well into both raw and cooked dishes.

These lentils are high in plant-based protein, making them a perfect addition to vegan and vegetarian diets. Sprouting enhances their digestibility and unlocks additional nutrients.

Red lentils contain approximately 9 g Protein per 100 gram serving.

How to Sprout

  • Soak 1/2 cup of red lentils in cool water for 6 – 8 hours. Rinse and drain well.
  • Place soaked seeds in a sprouting jar or tray. Drain thoroughly and keep jar tilted to remove excess water.
  • Rinse 2–3 times daily. Always drain well to prevent spoilage.
  • Sprouts are ready in 2 – 3 days. Yield is approximately 2 cups.
