HERB ‘Borage’ Seeds
Botanical Name: Borago officinalis
Borage is a beautiful and versatile herb, known for its bright blue, star-shaped, edible flowers and refreshing cucumber-flavored leaves. The flowers can be used to decorate salads, desserts, and drinks, while the leaves add a unique taste to teas, salads, soups, and more. Borage is a hardy annual herb, easy to grow in a variety of conditions, and also attracts beneficial insects to the garden.

Plant Height: Grows up to 90 cm when fully mature.
Sow When:
- Temperate: Spring, Summer, and Autumn (frost-free)

Germination: Seeds germinate best when soil temperatures are between 15°C and 25°C. Germination takes 7 – 10 days.
Depth: Sow seeds approximately 10 mm deep in the soil.
Position: Thrives in part or full sun with moist, well-drained soil.
Sow Where: Directly into garden beds or containers.
Soil Type: Prefers moist, well-drained soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0.
Spacing: Space plants approximately 30 cm apart for proper growth.
Harvest (Herb): Flowers and leaves can be harvested 80 – 90 days after sowing. Regular harvesting encourages more growth.
Growing Instructions (Microgreens)
- Do not pre-soak seeds.
- Use approximately 28 grams of seeds for a 10 x 20″ tray.
- Moisten soil and flatten 3-4 cm soil in the tray, or grow hydroponically.
- Cover for 2-4 days with a tray lid. Store in a well-ventilated area away from light until seeds germinate. Lightly water 1-2 times daily.
- Uncover and place in light. Water 1-2 times daily.
Harvest (Microgreens): 10 – 21 days after sowing. Cut microgreens 1-2 cm above the soil.
