BEAN BUSH ‘Dragon’s Tongue’ Seeds
Botanical Name: Phaseolus vulgaris
A Dutch heirloom that is famous for its excellent flavor and striking appearance. The stringless, flat pods are pale yellow with purple streaks, 17.5 cm long with a crisp, juicy texture. The plants are compact and very productive. It can be used fresh or as a dried bean.

Sow When:
- Beans are frost-tender; germinate best at 18 – 25°C; seed will rot in cold, wet soil
- Temperate Subtropical: Spring to early summer
- Tropical: All year if frost-free; avoid Dec-Jan
Germination:
- 2 – 4 cm deep
Position: Direct into the garden bed
Soil Type: Fertile, well-drained, pH 6.2 – 7
Rows: Double rows 60 cm apart
Spacing: 10 – 15 cm between plants
Details: Hill plants, up to 10 cm deep, to protect from wind damage; water well once after sowing and then do not water again until seedlings appear
Harvest: 55 – 65 days: pick daily, early in the morning for the best flavor
