Red Cabbage Microgreen Seeds
Red cabbage is a popular microgreen crop because of the perfect blend of colour, flavour, and yield.
Deep Purple Colour
Dark green, glossy leaves and deep purple stems make this micro variety a showstopper. Against the backdrop of trays of green microgreens, the intense colour of trays of red cabbage stand out. In a salad mix, these micros add a depth of colour and streaks of red and purple.
Microgreen growers often make their salad mix bases with green varieties such as sunflower, broccoli, peas, or cress. Red cabbage gives these mixes a punch of colour.
Mild and Sweet Flavour
Unlike the spicy flavour of purple radish, red cabbage gives you the colour without the bite. The taste is sweet and mild, without any of the kick of other brassica varieties. Even the most popular brassica seed, broccoli, has a spicier and more overpowering flavour than red cabbage.
Good Yield Crop
As a micro crop, red cabbage offers you a good yield. A 10 x 20′ grow tray requires approximately 25 grams of seed, yielding up to 220 grams of harvest.
Fast and Easy to Grow
You’d be hard-pressed to find a more reliable and easier crop than red cabbage. In 7-10 days, these fast-growing micros are ready for harvest. We know from grower feedback that red cabbage is a consistently good variety to grow.
Hemp growing mat, coco coir, or organic soil. You’ll get great results with any of these growing mediums. At Seedmart, our choice of growing medium is hemp grow mats.
