HERB ‘Green Shiso’ Seeds

Botanical Name: Perilla frutescens

  • Also known as perilla, this aromatic annual herb is prized in Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese cuisine.
  • Attractive green, serrated leaves with a refreshing, slightly spicy flavour.
  • A favourite among chefs as a micro herb for garnishes and flavour accents.
  • Fast-growing and suitable for both garden beds and microgreen production.

How to Grow Green Shiso as Microgreens

  • Sow rate for a 10 x 20″ tray: 28 grams
  • Soak seeds for 12–24 hours before sowing
  • Fill tray with approx. 3 cm of organic soil or potting mix and cover with vermiculite
  • Ensure microgreens have good airflow, light, and consistent moisture
  • Keep in a well-lit spot and water daily with a spray bottle or mist system

Harvest (Microgreens): Ready to harvest in approximately 3 weeks. Cut above the soil line with clean scissors.
