HERB ‘Basil Genovese’ Seeds
Botanical Name: Ocimum basilicum

Sow When:

Germination: Seeds germinate best when soil temperatures are between 18°C and 35°C. Germination takes 7 – 14 days.
Depth: Sow seeds approximately 0.5 cm deep in the soil.
Position: Thrives in full sun with moist, well-drained soil.
Sow Where: Directly into garden beds or containers.
Soil Type: Prefers rich, moist, well-drained soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5.
Spacing: Space plants approximately 30 cm apart and rows 30 – 50 cm apart for proper growth.
Harvest (Herb): Leaves can be harvested 60 – 80 days after sowing. Regular harvesting encourages bushier growth and more leaves.
Growing Instructions (Microgreens)
- Do not pre-soak seeds.
- Moisten soil, flatten 3-4 cm soil in tray.
- Cover for 4-6 days with a tray lid. Store in a well-ventilated area away from light until the seeds germinate. Lightly water 1-2 times daily.
- Uncover and place in light. Water 1-2 times daily.
- Harvest time: Approximately 12-16 days.
Harvest (Microgreens): 12 – 16 days after sowing. Cut microgreens 1-2 cm above the soil.
