About Seedmart

Seedmart helps home gardeners, schools and market gardeners get great results with seeds that suit our climate. We pair quality seed with practical, down-to-earth advice so you can sow with confidence and harvest more—whether you’re growing sprouts in a sprouting jar on your kitchen bench or veggies in the backyard.

Who we are

Seedmart is an Australian owned, family-run company, with both New Zealand and Singapore branches. This website is Seedmart Australia. Our team sources reliable varieties from trusted producers and packs them with care so they arrive fresh and ready to grow.

What we stock

  • Heirloom & open-pollinated favourites for flavour, diversity and seed saving.
  • F1 hybrids where extra vigour, uniformity or disease resistance makes growing easier. (F1s won’t grow true from saved seed.)
  • Treated seed for certain crops when it improves establishment or protects emerging seedlings. Treated seed is always clearly labelled and is not suitable for sprouting or microgreens. Please follow any safety directions on the pack.

Across the range we source non-GMO seed and clearly label variety type so you can choose what fits your garden and values.

Our standards

  • Freshness & viability: lots are quality-checked and stored in climate-appropriate conditions.
  • Clear labelling: variety name, type (heirloom, OP or F1) and any treatment are specified on product pages and packets.
  • Helpful guidance: we publish sowing windows, growing tips and project ideas tailored to Australian conditions.

Who we serve

Backyard gardeners, allotments and community gardens, schools and early-learning programs, small farms, cafes and market growers. If you’re new to growing, start with our quick guides; if you’re more experienced, you’ll find dependable varieties and bigger packs for projects.

Sustainability & care

We aim to make good growing accessible—choosing resilient varieties, encouraging crop rotation and cover crops, and reducing waste with sensible pack sizes. If something isn’t right with your order, please contact us and we’ll make it right.
