Watermelon ‘Congo’ Seeds
Botanical name: Citrullus lanatus
Annual rambling vine with a plant height of 45 cm. ‘Congo’ watermelon germinates best at 23 – 35°C soil temperature. Sow in Oct – Nov, after all danger of frost for temperate and subtropical regions, and Sept – Nov for tropical regions. Germination takes 4 – 10 days with a depth of 1.5 – 2 cm. It prefers full sun and should be sown directly where it is to grow.

Spacing: 1 m between plants on raised mounds
Details: Slide a board or a piece of cardboard under the fruit to reduce contact with the soil.
Harvest: 85 – 95 days: harvest when the tendril closest to the fruit stem is dry and brown, and the underside of the fruit has changed to a yellow color.
