HERB ‘Red Veined Sorrel’ Seeds
Also known as ‘Bloody Dock’ or ‘Red Veined Dock’.
Red Veined Sorrel has bright green leaves with contrasting dark red stems and veins. It is a herbaceous, hardy perennial growing up to 30 cm high. The flavour is sharp, tangy, and lemony, with a smooth, crisp texture. It is mainly used as a salad green or baby leaf, as the older leaves become tough. Red Veined Sorrel also makes a beautiful garnish. Nutritionally, it contains vitamins A and C, and minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. It germinates best at soil temperatures between 7 – 23°C. Plants can also be propagated by division.

How to Grow as Microgreens
- Do not pre-soak seeds before sowing.
- Use approximately 5 grams of seeds for a 10 x 20′ growing tray.
- Fill the tray with 2 – 3 cm of soil (hydroponic mediums are not recommended).
- Flatten the soil surface and moisten it before sprinkling the seeds evenly over the top. Lightly water the seeds.
- Cover the tray with another tray or lid to block light. Store in a well-ventilated, dark place to promote germination. Water 1 – 2 times daily, keeping the seeds covered for 5 – 10 days.
- Once seeds have germinated, remove the cover and place the tray in direct sunlight outdoors. Continue watering twice daily.
- Harvest: Ready to harvest in up to 30 days. Growing microgreens can be more challenging (difficulty level: Hard).
